According to Centurion Systems, purveyors of quality access, gate automation and security solutions, security solutions can be easily compromised by the quality or otherwise of the batteries on which they operate. According to Centurion Systems, "The majority of 12 V lead acid batteries will be damaged if the voltage level drops below 10 V. Unfortunately, in the event of a power failure many battery low protection circuits only prevent the motor (the battery's biggest load) from being operated. The electronics remains connected and continues to draw current.
"Although this current is very low, the battery will be eventually drained and permanently damaged. The CP107 is designed to prevent this by completely isolating all load when the battery low threshold of 10,6 V is reached. Once mains power is restored the battery saver automatically resets, allowing your battery to recharge to full capacity."
The CP107 is supplied ready to be connected and is small enough to be tucked away inside the various Centurion Systems enclosures.
