Detecting intruders is no longer just a matter of putting up a fence. With increasing security threats, businesses need to protect their property without spending any unnecessary time and money on security systems. They require a detection system which will actively deter would-be intruders and detect attackers.
An example of an innovative solution to this issue is the addition to the Gallagher perimeter security range, the D21 disturbance sensor. It is an intelligent intrusion detection device that senses kinematic behaviour or movement of structures. The sensor measures kinetic energy released within a structure when it is disturbed and signals an alarm when certain parameters are exceeded.
The intelligent alarm processing software also rejects environmental conditions such as changes in temperature and disturbances caused by wind or rain, minimising non-alarm events and ultimately saving the business money on unnecessary monitoring and callouts. Detection parameters can be set to achieve the best balance between probability of detection and nuisance alarms. This benefits businesses by saving time and costs on nuisance calls, false alarms and call outs.
This intelligent detection system operates on the Gallagher Command Centre software. The Command Centre makes it simple for operators to monitor alarms. The alarm viewers are custom designed, sourcing and presenting all the information an operator needs to manage an alarm on one screen. Each operator can choose different content to view within the alarm list, such as alarm zone, card holder related to the alarm, event group, entry access zone related to the alarm, among many other options.
