Centurion was the first to introduce built-in intruder-detection alarms into gate automation products. Recognising the need to address both safety and security at the entrance to a property, our newer controllers were designed to address these concerns.
Centurion gate motor’s controller will convert the infrared gate safety beams, usually meant to enhance safety by detecting obstructions in an automated gate’s path, to intruder detection beams while the gate is idle.
Traditionally there was a lot of resistance to fitting gate safety beams, as criminals could block the beams with a piece of tape and then when a home owner arrives home and opens their gate the criminal could simply walk in behind them because their gate would not close. This is now a thing of the past. With Centurion’s intruder-detection alarm, any obstruction in front of the beams for a predefined period of time will trigger the alarm function. This can be configured to alert armed response, a siren, the onboard buzzer, or simply an LED in the house or control room.
