For those that have a space problem where the gate swings up flat against the side wall of a property, the model 770 underground gate automation system from FAAC, is a suitable solution.
This electromechanical operator mounts into the ground directly beneath the swing gate leaf. The swing gate rests on the operator with the unit providing the bottom hinge. The only part that is visible is a flat stainless plate that covers the mechanism, flush with the ground. The operators can handle a maximum 2,5 m single leaf weighing up to 500 kg, in domestic and light industrial applications.
The motors are 24 V d.c. and are controlled by the Centurion CP77 DC controller suitably modified to be compatible with the system. A 24 V power pack is provided as the main power source and battery back-up can be conveniently fitted by adding two 12 V batteries housed in a separate enclosure.
