Bosch Security Systems has obtained approval from the independent and internationally recognised TÜV Product Service GmbH testing authority in Germany for its Plena Voice Alarm System.
The Plena Voice Alarm System has been independently TÜV tested to EN/IEC60849 certification for 'Sound Systems for Emergency Purposes'. This means Bosch can assure not just installers but also fire departments, consultants/specifiers and end-users that the voice evacuation systems they are using comply with the strictest requirements of the EN/IEC60849 standard for public buildings - such as hotels, schools, entertainment venues, sport centres, railway stations and termini, retail stores, shopping centres and exhibition centres.
TÜV testing is part of Bosch's quality-assurance philosophy. It clearly demonstrates to customers that not only the current release of the Plena Voice Alarm System fully complies with EN/IEC60849 but also future releases and other newly developed voice evacuation products will comply.
Subjecting its products to this unique level of independent testing shows that Bosch Security Systems applies the strictest design criteria to provide PA and Emergency Voice Alarm systems that meet the highest industry standards for functionality, safety and quality.
Certification is just part of Bosch's strategy of helping the end-user and consultant choose the right product and partner for the design and installation of a voice evacuation system. In addition Bosch offers in-depth training to installers to ensure that any Plena design and installation project is carried out according to the requirements as set in the standard.
The Plena Voice Alarm System is designed for small- to medium-sized applications with up to 60 zones. It includes all essential functionality such as full system supervision, spare amplifier switching, loudspeaker line surveillance, a built-in message manager and comprehensive front panel controls and indicators. Furthermore the system offers full public address functionality.
Plena is a plug-and-play system based on a controller with an emergency microphone, a built-in 240 W booster amplifier and message routing for up to six zones. The controller can either be used as a simple standalone solution for smaller applications or easily extended up to 60 zones using 6-zone routers. Plena Power Amplifiers can be added if additional power is required. Optional remote control panels that duplicate the Plena Voice Alarm's user interface allow the system to be placed in a basement or in a fire-resistant cabinet while operating the system from another part of the building or location.
