Elvey Security Technologies - always the same, but always changing

October 2001 News & Events

In the mid-1970s, the Elvey Company introduced unique, high-quality, state-of-the-art products into the security industry. At that time, the first of these famous products was the Pirelli range of fire-retardant cable. Added to this exclusive product, Elvey backed up their products with a high level of service. The well-trained staff, headed by Gordon Chown, assisted customers in the design of systems and were always willing to advise and assist with installation details.

Today, over 25 years later, the company still has the same way of operating; offering professional security installers a unique state-of-the-art range of top quality equipment with a high level of support. The well-known brand names are the same, but the company is constantly changing itself, to bring its standards to meet a world-class market and ensure that customers can go to a place that has a reputation for quality of service, products and most importantly, people.

Over the years major manufacturers have relied on Elvey International to market their products on the African continent. In addition, the fact that Elvey assists with the designs and specifications of new products, and offers training to its customers, ensures that the products achieve excellent reputations for the international principals. An interesting point to note is the fact that the company does not distinguish between large or small installation companies, and strives to offer the same level of service, support and training to all professional installers.

Innnovation

"Customers choose us because of our determination to provide the best products with the best service at reasonable prices," says Andrew Stead, Elvey International's Marketing Director. Furthermore, the company has been active in innovations in the electronic security industry for many years, and is continually looking at ways to change itself.

A case in point is the establishment of a specialised division, Visionline, specifically to provide electronic security systems for use in building management. Systems include CCTV, access control, fire detection and fibre-optics equipment. "It is vitally important to continue our tradition of excellent service with superb products," says Ray Wilsenach, Visionline Divisional Director. He adds, "We needed to focus independently on this niche of the market."

The Elvey Security Technologies Group is confident that it can continue to search for more advanced and better ways to serve the electronic security industry, thereby providing electronic security solutions for any requirements. Elvey Security Technologies is an Hudaco Group Company.
