Securex is being held at the Sandton Convention Centre from 25 to 27 June.
Visitors will be able to discover the latest in security solutions and trends, from information and communications technology (ICT) and CCTV technology convergence, to integrated security systems, mass storage of CCTV footage and intelligent building management systems that ensure energy and cost efficiencies. They can also learn about visual security systems, for example, that will enable them to keep an eye on their home or possessions from a cellphone, from anywhere in the world, as well as a host of innovative personal protection devices, home security systems and guarding options.
Securex 2008 will present visitors with a definitive roundup of products and services, both established and new, that meet the rapidly growing need for business and personal security in South Africa.
Solutions and services on show will include access control, alarm systems, ammunition, building management systems, CCTV and cameras, communication equipment, counterfeit detection, emergency services, firearms and weapons, fire detection and control, guarding and protection services; home and corporate security, ID systems, IT and integrated systems, lighting and cabling, locks, night vision optics, perimeter security, personal security, protective clothing, risk management, safes, safety equipment, security seals, training, vehicle tracking and recovery systems, visual guarding systems and X-ray systems.
"It is no secret that we are living in dangerous times, with crime - often violent in nature - affecting both private individuals and businesses at an alarming rate," says Jack Edery, chairperson of the South African Security Association (SASA).
"Visitors to Securex will get a bird's eye view of what is available to help them protect themselves, from physical security, including guarding, access control and alarms, to personal protection devices and more."
Internationally, people from all walks of life are seeking ways in which they can protect their homes, businesses and loved ones in an increasingly unsafe environment. Securex, therefore, is for people who want to know more about their safety options.
Many companies will be launching new products to the South African market at Securex this year and there are also those that will be adding something different to attract visitors to their stands.
