Guarding presence required at Securex

July 2003 News & Events

Securex 2004, South Africa's leading International Security, Protection & Safety Exhibition, will take place from 3-5 March at Sandton Convention Centre.

For eight years Securex has attracted leading local as well as international exhibitors hailing from countries such as Italy, Korea, UK, USA, Spain and the Czech Republic. This successful trade exhibition creates an opportune marketing medium and assists industry players in targeting a broad spectrum of influential local and international buyers as well as decision makers. Over 4300 visitors attended Securex 2003 over the three day period of the show. Of these 169 were foreign visitors hailing from 36 different countries. "As the premier security, protection and safety exhibition, Securex saw a higher calibre of exhibitor present at the show this year as well as an increase in quality visitors which we were extremely pleased about," says Lynn Chamier, director of Exhibitions for Africa - the organisers of the exhibition. Despite the overwhelming success of the show this year, market research indicates that the absence of a particular sector - guarding companies - was felt.

For many years the guarding industry in South Africa has played an integral role in the security sector but yet has kept a low profile in the market. Visitors to Securex have strongly indicated that they would like to see more security guarding companies exhibiting at the show.

As a trade exhibition which offers the right mix of quality exhibitors and visitors, Securex provides an ideal platform to:

* Market your products.

* Offer personal selling to potential buyers.

* Build prospect databases.

* Build and maintain relationships with existing customers.

* Educate the market.

* Build brand awareness.

* Launch new services/products.
