In February last year General Electric acquired Interlogix, the holding company of Aritech South Africa. Since then the company has been operating as a new business platform within GE Industrial Systems, known as GE Interlogix. Following suit, Aritech has been renamed to GE Interlogix in South Africa.
Brett Birch, managing director for GE Interlogix in South Africa says, "The name change has been implemented to reinforce the fact that we are a GE company and to leverage the global stature of GE in the market place. We are excited to be part of a company that affords the benefits of size and scale, and a commitment to industry leadership.
However, the use of the Aritech brand in the local market will be retained in recognition of the identity and respect we have built for the brand over the last six years.
I am confident that being part of General Electric is a development that will allow us to better serve our customers, with a broader, more diversified portfolio of products, systems and services to satisfy their needs."
