According to Dave Wailer of Systems Technologies, the company is one of the major security suppliers to South African educational institutions. Says Wailer, "Presently, Systems Technologies has supplied the vast majority of South African Ivy league institutions with the PhotoCard card ID badge production system. The system is used to produce student ID badges and offers a secure platform for the user."
"PhotoCard card is compatible and works with the Integrated Tertiary Systems Oracle-based campus management solution, enabling PhotoCard data to be stored on the campus's Oracle database," he said.
PhotoCard works on Windows 95/98 and NT platforms and can be networked. ID card production is streamlined and ideal for high production needs during functions such as student registration.
Adds Wailer, "Magnetic, barcode and smartcard options are available, enabling the card to be used as an access card for existing access control requirements. PhotoCard is also compliant with Octopus 2000, Systems Technologies' latest access control offering."
Octopus 2000 offers remote dial connection to the control room for satellite campuses and hostels, as well as fire monitoring and general-purpose alarm monitoring.
