The new DDI78 passive infrared sensor supplied by Aritech can provide false-alarm-free performance in a wide variety of applications outdoors.
The key to the DDI78's success is the proprietary 'dual channel' microwave technology termed 'stereo doppler'. With stereo doppler microwave technology the installer can field adjust the microwave sensor's sensitivity to determine the exact distance a target must move (from 0,1 up to 1 m) in order to create an alarm. For example, if the sensor were set to the 0,5-m mode, it would compensate for objects such as trees, shrubs, bushes, etc. moving less than 0,5 m in the wind. The microwave sensor only acknowledges an alarm if the movement exceeded 0,5 m. The DDI78 is also not affected by weather including harsh conditions such as rain, snow, sleet fog, ice, wind, high temperature (+54°C), and low temperature (-34°C)
In the high security market the DDI78 sensors are generally used in conjunction with perimeter fence systems, buried cable, bi-static microwave, etc. The DDI78 sensors are used extensively in conjunction with perimeter systems to protect sally ports, rooftops, and are also used to protect specific assets and strategic areas.
In the commercial market applications include car dealerships, vehicle maintenance areas, valuable material, storage areas, equipment rental businesses, motor pools, residences, etc.
