Camprosa set for 2015 conference in Cape Town

Camprosa, the Campus Protection Society of Southern Africa is set to host its 2015 international conference at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town from the 6th to 9th September 2015. This year’s conference will focus on crime trends at institutions and how to combat them.

Among the presentations attendees will be able to experience this year, Vanessa Lynch, probably the person primarily responsible for South Africa’s criminal DNA database, working tirelessly to make it a reality, will deliver a presentation on the Forensic Procedures Amendment Act 2013. This piece of legislation was a long time coming and vital to effective law enforcement.

Derek Huebsch, vice president of Camprosa will host a workshop on how to collectively tackle crime trends once effectively identified. The workshop will also cover what type of awareness, crime prevention and communication are being used to inform staff and students about risks, what degree of negligence is evident and how it affects the various institutional insurers’ response to claims.

Another presentation that can’t be missed will be delivered by Dr David Klatzow, a pre-eminent forensic science expert. Dr Klatzow’s academic qualification and his experience of more than 28 years are evident in his numerous appearances as a witness in various cases, and as an advisor to both plaintiffs and defendants.

There will be numerous additional presentations, as well as the Officer of the Year Award, sponsored this year by G4S.
