Juan Mogollon, president of growth markets for Tyco, announced today that Danna Strydom, group managing director for Tyco sub-Saharan Africa had left the organisation in pursuit of semi-retirement and Stuart Clarkson had taken over the role, effective 3 March 2014.
Mogollon comments, “We are delighted to welcome Stuart Clarkson as the new managing director for Tyco sub-Saharan Africa. Clarkson, who holds a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, has extensive industrial and commercial experience and is well positioned to drive growth in the region.
He most recently worked with Siemens in Johannesburg as the chief executive officer with strategic and operational leadership for the Siemens company in South Africa.” Mogollon paid special tribute to Strydom saying the group was particularly grateful for the exceptional leadership Strydom has accorded the South African business in his time with the company and with the strong leadership team he had built up over the years.
Strydom first joined the group in 2002 as managing director of ADT SA and over the last 12 years has been instrumental in significantly growing the ADT business in South Africa. Under his watch Tyco has seen significant growth in its customer base which has grown four-fold since Strydom first joined. This has been accompanied by strong growth in revenue and operating profit, making the South African business a significant contributor to Tyco’s global financial achievements. There has also been steady growth in staff numbers resulting in an employee base today that is the biggest in any of the Tyco markets worldwide.
“We wish Strydom every success in his future endeavours,” concludes Mogollon.
