Elvey secures sponsorship for IFSEC SA 2012

April 2012 News & Events

Elvey Security Technologies is once again one of the leading sponsors at the upcoming IFSEC South Africa 2012, to be held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, 19-21 June 2012. The show will also feature interactive and live product demonstrations and educational forums for security professionals looking to better service their clients.

Ross Cullingworth, commercial events director at Montgomery Africa (a division of UBM Montgomery), the organisers of this event, says, “We are proud to have Elvey back this year as a sponsor. As an established and respected brand, we believe it will again add to the calibre of the show.”

As a leading distributor of electronic security products, Elvey will take prime position on the show floor. With an investment in progressive technology and a commitment to uncompromising service, the Elvey stand drew fantastic attendance at last year’s show.

Jack Edery, CEO of Elvey says, “In Africa today, few topics are more discussed and less understood than security. Almost daily, it seems, we hear of threats to both people and physical assets and infrastructure. Defending the private and public sector remains a priority and security suppliers and manufacturers provide the valuable resources to protect against criminal activity.

“All security providers strive to use the best human talent and the most advanced technology to make residential homes and commercial enterprises safer places for all. However, to improve and implement security strategies is a shared responsibility.”

According to Edery, consumers of security services and products need to understand that they are not making a grudge purchase – but rather the most important investment in a safer future they will ever make. Moreover, they need to understand the increasingly sophisticated criminal operations out there and how to maintain stringent security standards. In both cases he stresses that education is vital.

“A show like IFSEC South Africa 2012 is positioned to guide delegates through new technology by putting them in direct contact with skilled people who have a passion for these developments,” he says. “The show provides an overview of security product options and services, but it also gives access to education from those experts who understand both the current and future security needs of South Africa and the rest of the continent.”

By being exposed to a wide product range, private companies and government organisations can make better purchasing decisions. Furthermore, delegates can better understand best practice as laid out by government and get to grips with the legislative requirements that need to be followed.
