October 2010 News & Events

Security solutions provider welcomes IT industry veteran from Microsoft.

BitDefender has announced the appointment of Charles Arizmendi as its new chief operations officer. Arizmendi will accelerate the company’s strategic operations and global expansion programme, while leading the global sales, marketing and customer care teams. He will report to BitDefender’s CEO, Florin Talpes.

Arizmendi brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing and operations experience to BitDefender. He moves from Microsoft, where he led the channel sales, marketing and programs teams for Central and Eastern Europe and the Latin America regions, managing revenues up to $1,3 billion. He developed breakthrough, world-class sales and marketing programs that were recognised for their success both internally and outside the company.

Arizmendi also brings extensive experience in implementing strategies to increase annual revenue growth and building relationships with customers, having consistently increased software sales for Latin America’s mid-market, small business and consumer segments by more than 40% and achieving renewal rates of over 90%.

“Hiring a proven and experienced leader like Charles adds tremendous strength to the BitDefender leadership team,” said Florin Talpes, CEO of BitDefender. “His ability to improve field sales, marketing and customer care operations adds more strategic thinking to BitDefender and will help drive our growth worldwide. I am delighted to have him on board.”

“I look forward to growing and managing BitDefender’s already well-established global presence,” said Arizmendi. “It is exciting to be part of a global company with a rich history of innovation and setting new standards in proactive security solutions.”
