The security industry can look ahead to a sizzling IFSEC SA Securex this year. The show is set to be bigger and encompass more of the industry than ever before.
The biggest news must be that the Security Industry Alliance (SIA) will be holding its annual conference and banquet parallel to the show, ensuring that everyone who is anyone will be there. The 2009 SIA conference was deemed a tremendous success and moving the proceedings to Sandton Convention Centre with IFSEC SA Securex can only be a draw card.
In addition to the SIA conference, IFSEC SA Securex will also host a number of international pavilions designed to introduce various Asian companies to potential South African partners and customers, and to introduce the country to these visitors. Currently, China, South Korea and Taiwan have pavilions booked.
“And these are apart from the bookings we have from local companies,” says organiser Breda Kenealy. “We had already sold over 50% of the space available in December and we are expecting the halls to be packed this year.
“Last year saw the show receive accolades from exhibitors, with most saying the quality of people coming through was better than ever before. The leads generated at the show helped many companies weather the recession better than they expected.”
Another draw card is the show’s new Health and Safety section. Following on from IFSEC SA Securex’s UK parent exhibition, Specialised Exhibitions has added a new Health and Safety section to the show to highlight this crucial aspect of all businesses. From protective gear, through to best practice management in this sensitive area, it will all be at IFSEC SA Securex 2010.
“We are also marketing IFSEC SA Securex up into Africa,” adds Kenealy. “We had an unprecedented number of African visitors in 2009, an outcome that was welcomed by all. In 2010 we expect an even greater African contingent as we are promoting the event throughout the continent.”
IFSEC SA Securex 2010 is ready to retain its title as the only exhibition that serves and is supported by the security industry as a whole. The 2010 event runs from 31 August to 2 September 2010. More information can be found at www.ifsecsa.com.
