Bosch Security Systems enters access control market

November 2009 News & Events

The life safety and protection industry is a dynamic market with the latest trend towards integration driven by the demands of the customer and the new technologies needed to meet these demands. Customers are no longer willing to manage disparate and independent access control, fire alarm, video surveillance and voice evacuation systems, and are pushing toward the convergence of their security systems.

For installers and integrators, successful project implementation therefore demands a greater technical understanding of systems. You need to know that the products you install work flawlessly together and provide ease of use to your clients – especially if life safety is concerned. Life safety systems cannot be allowed to hinder evacuation due to faulty integration in an emergency.

For this reason, Bosch is working towards offering a total product portfolio that will offer this integration. The products, designed and manufactured by a single supplier will integrate flawlessly. Bosch’s products are also certified and come with the standard three-year guarantee across all of the product ranges.

As part of its commitment to partners, hands on training will be offered free of charge. Full product support will also be available in South Africa.

The first step to integration was taken when Bosch launched the fire detection/voice evacuation product partnership for small to medium sized applications, soon followed by CCTV. The missing product seemed to be access control systems.

Therefore, in 2010 Bosch will be adding an access control product range to its integrated portfolio. The product will be officially launched during its end-of-year awards event, and will be commercially available to partners in January 2010.
