Business Against Crime South Africa has announced the following appointments effective from 1 September 2009:
* Siphiwe Nzimande who holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science (UNISA), Master of Business Administration (Wits) will step down as CEO and be appointed deputy chairman and continue to serve Business Against Crime South Africa in a less executive capacity.
* Graham Wright will be appointed chief executive officer. Wright has occupied senior leadership roles in Business Against Crime South Africa since August 1998, his most recent position being that of deputy chief executive officer. In these capacities he has interacted with cabinet ministers and senior leaders in business, government, the SAPS, the Department of Justice and the Department of Correctional Services. Throughout his tenure his expertise and experience in combating crime has earned him the respect of business associates, government partners and staff, and the Board has every confidence in his ability to lead BAC in the interests of business and in its partnership with government.
Wright holds a B.Sc. Hons. (Physics) as well as a Higher Education Diploma from the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg), and a Ph.D. (Materials Engineering) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
