With Yale Digital Door Lock users are no longer constrained to use a mechanical key to unlock their doors. Instead they can choose the secure electronic key, the iButton or the PIN keypad – for a completely keyless solution.
Electronic locks have many benefits. Landlords can change the locks between tenants by simply changing the access code or reprogramming the iButtons, rather than replacing the existing mechanical lock. Elderly people can share their code with relatives and caregivers, making access easier, and families do not have to worry about teenagers losing their keys.
The digital door lock is easy to install and comes with a mechanical key override in case of power failure as well as an in-built tamper alarm, which is triggered should anyone attempt to damage or force the lock. For added security, the access code and iButtons can be reprogrammed.
The keyless electronic door lock from Yale is available from select Yale Security Point stores (Cresta, Northgate, Eastgate, Fourways, Brooklyn) and available on request. There are three models available which range in price from R2499–R3999.
