This year, Elvey's annual 'Golf for Good' sporting event took place on 18 September at the Modderfontein Golf Club, with a full field of 120 golfers.
"The golf day was a huge success and a lot of fun. Although the main focus of the event was to raise money for charity, it was also a wonderful opportunity for customers to network amongst each other and exchange new business ideas," says Jack Edery, CEO of Elvey Security Technologies. During the prize-giving event, Elvey handed over a cheque of R10 000 to Gordon Drummond, chairman of the Avalon Home for the Disabled.
Along the 18 holes, Elvey staff members represented the countries of some of their international suppliers, wearing the represented country's traditional outfits and serving traditional snacks and drinks.
One of Elvey's long-term customers, Brian Edwards from Instalarm says, "Elvey's Golf for Good was not only good for supporting charity; it was also good for my body, mind and soul."
Edery adds, "In true support to Golf for Good, I would like to sincerely thank all our customers, suppliers and sponsors for their participation and support towards a wonderful and successful sporting event. Without you, a day like this would not have been possible, and no funds would have been raised to help those less fortunate than us. I truly hope to see you all back next year for another satisfying Elvey Golf for Good day."
