Architects and specifiers are increasingly taking a closer look at Transaction Control Technologies' unique Selector Door to solve some of the challenges they face in finding access control solutions.
According to TCT's Malcolm Thomas, what makes the Selector Door so unique is its ability to provide secure single person access control while simultaneously solving the problem of the access of wheelchairs, bulk goods etc all in one aesthetically pleasing space saving solution.
"The small footprint of Selector Door (the walkthrough direction only occupies the swing of one door, compared with a minimum loss of 2,5 m in the event of conventional 2-door cubicles being utilised) makes for better utilisation of space which more often than not comes at a premium. The Selector Door effectively pays for itself in no time by the floor space saved," says Thomas.
The Selector Door (international patents pending) can be customised to suit specialised applications by virtue of its proprietary PLC which, in addition to the basic control function, facilitates the integration of biometric reading devices, scramble keypads, external access control etc.
Another interesting benefit of the Selector Door is that it can easily be retrofitted into existing buildings with little or no builder's work involvement.
The Selector Door is available in two models - one steel, where penetration resistance is important, and one in glass and aluminium, where control and aesthetics are the overriding requirements.
