The KeyTrak GEM consists of a PC, proprietary software, semiconductor button technology, key tags and electronic steel drawers that protect keys from unauthorised use. Now, at one system, a customer can monitor and obtain detailed reports on key usage for multisystems, multidrawers and multilocations, he added.
Within the KeyTrak system, keys are placed in slots within the steel drawer, designed so those keys cannot be misplaced or lost within the system. All keys are securely riveted to key tags and carry no identifying information that could be used by unauthorised individuals.
The KeyTrak system not only stores the keys but also produces a detailed audit trail that reports details such as who has a key and when the key was taken. The KeyTrak key control system, based on technology patented by the company, is the only key system approved by the Underwriters Laboratory.
A Windows-based Y2K-compliant system, KeyTrak GEM is available with a mini key drawer with 96 key tags; a standard key drawer with 240 keys; and a key cabinet that houses up to four key drawers. Drawers can be combined and systems can be networked.
