Ilco Unicam enters SA market

February 2001 Access Control & Identity Management

Systems Technologies was recently appointed as local for Ilco Unicam, a Canadian supplier of locking mechanisms. Formed in 1960, Ilco Unicam, an HID partner, has supplied over one million hotel locking mechanisms worldwide. Included in the comprehensive range of access control systems is the Solitaire 850L Learnlok.

The Learnlok is a standalone lock which enrols users quickly and easily using specially designed function cards. All one has to do to begin enrolling users is to swipe the Learn card through the reader. Then, just swipe a User card and a User Cancel card and it is now ready to use.

If a more sophisticated system is needed, the Learnlok can be upgraded to full-featured Solitaire 850 or 950 Series systems.

The Learnlok is available with a starter pack which includes:

* Start-up card: sets the facility code so that only that specific starter park and no one else's can operate the lock.

* Learn card: puts the lock in Learn mode so one can create a user or master level card for a new employee.

* User card: opens the lock. With three user levels, one can also enrol Master Level cards to override the deadbolt and put the lock in passage mode. One can even enrol an existing credit card or bank card to open the lock.

* User cancel card: cancels the corresponding user card.

* Master level cancel card: cancels all master level cards.

* Audit card: allows audit information for the last 1000 events to be downloaded from the lock.
