A face recognition access control system is now available in South Africa for PCs and notebooks.
Available from RCG Systems SA, FxGuard Windows logon uses a standard web camera to identify the person's face as the login ID and password to access the computer. Using the latest software technology, FxGuard Windows logon will deal with variations in facial expressions and lighting conditions.
RCG Systems SA operations manager Mike Cox, says the system solves many problems associated with password-based verification systems, such as losing passwords.
"FxGuard Windows logon incorporates the most advanced face recognition and verification engine. It is adaptive, which means the system re-learns the user's face each time they login. The natural facial progression will therefore not compromise system accuracy."
