On 1 March, Terry Scallan, a governor of the SA Institute of Security (SAIS) attended, by invitation, the Annual General Meeting in London of the British Security Institute. He was accompanied by fellow SAIS governor, Errol Peace. The AGM was followed by the British Security Institute annual dinner in Kings Cross, London.
At the dinner, the chairman of the British Security Institute, Bill Wyllie, was presented with a certificate from the SAIS and in turn presented the SAIS with a British Security Institute certificate of professional recognition.
The purpose of the visit was to establish a relationship between the two Institutes as part of the SAIS initiative to establish relationships with other Security Institutes. It was agreed to share information, exchange newsletters, attend future events of both Institutes and investigate the awarding of each other's qualifications.
