Dortech has announced the release of its new MDF 05 direct drive roller shutter motors. These motors have been specifically designed for roller shutter doors of up to 16 square metres in size or weighing 220 kg. This covers a wide segment of the roller shutter door market and includes shutters on shop fronts and domestic applications.

The MDF05 motors are available in both 230 V (25% duty cycle) and 380 V (60% duty cycle), and in models with an integrated controller for basic key switch/pushbutton operation as well as other models requiring an external controller. The external controller option will allow for the connection of remote controls, safety devices, traffic lights and any other type of automation peripherals. The other option is the output speed which can either be 12 RPM or alternatively 15 RPM for smaller doors where the end-user may require a faster operation for security reasons.
