SAIDSA KZN 1999 armed response shoot-out results

The results of the 1999 SAIDSA KZN armed response shoot-out were recently forwarded to Hi-Tech Security Systems. The event took place on 22 June 1999 at the ranges of the Colt Shooting Club in Verulam, KZN. Andre van der Byl of Sentinel Firearm Bureau was the range officer for the day and, according to COMSEC's Pat Potgieter, who was in attendance, "The standard of competition was noticeably higher than in previous years."

The results of the day's shoot were as follows:

Individual shooting competition

First place: Willie Basson of Link-Up Security, Vryheid.

Second place: Craig Ayliffe of Enforce Security, Durban.

Third place: Ashley Aitken of Enforce Security, Durban.

Team shooting competition

First place: Enforce Security, Durban (Clinton Phipps, Ashley Aitken, Craig Ayliffe, Anthony Pillay).

Second place: Combined Link-Up/SAP-EX, Vryheid (George Webber, Willie Basson, Werner Leach, Rudi Leach).

Third place: ET Security, Durban (MT Pillay, Suren Kishwarllal, Eric Kistnasamy, AK Haniff).
