Group 4 Securicor revamps software

October 2005 News & Events

A contract to supply and implement a SAP Business One integrated business software solution in Mozambique for the Maputo headquarters of the international Group 4 Securicor security systems and guarding services provider, has been awarded to business and financial software reseller and solutions provider, Lorge.

Lorge manager, Eugene Olivier, said the contract involves a complete revamp of the Group 4 Securicor Mozambique's financial software systems, currently DOS-based, with a SAP Business One solution that will track marketing/sales leads and automatically convert them into contracts and orders when a sale is confirmed.

"The solution caters for both major sections of the business - the once-off purchase and installation of security/alarm systems and the supply of guarding services on a renewable 12-month contract invoiced every month."

Information from Group 4 Securicor's activities in other centres in Mozambique is sent to Maputo on paper for recapture and input into the software system. A future second phase will look at placing the countrywide operations online using a Citrix thin client infrastructure.

Group 4 Securicor Mozambique employs some 1600 people and operates nationally, serving public authorities, SME and large businesses, homeowners, international organisations and embassies. The company offers cash transportation, manned security - including mobile patrols, stationary guards, alarm response services and physical protection - security alarm installation and monitoring and security survey services.

The system installation and implementation is scheduled to be completed in December.
