BEE organisational changes at Datavision

September 2005 News & Events

Datavision has announced major organisational changes due to the company's continued expansion through the acquisition of Ikhusasa Lethu Computers, a BEE company.

Datavision offers a complete range of products and services comprising of integrated CCTV and security maintenance, data information technology links and networking, fibre-optic solutions and advanced access control solutions including customised biometric solutions.

The acquisition of Ikhusasa Lethu Computers was a strategic decision to ensure that Datavision now achieves the maximum number of points enabling qualification for procurements.

The company has implemented a corporate strategy that recognises the need to empower and transfer skills to previously disadvantaged individuals with the objective of building within the security industry, a company controlled by such individuals. Within the corporate strategy, a policy has been adopted, with the aim of ensuring that suitably qualified individuals from previously disadvantaged communities would comprise the majority of the executive management and other employees in the new venture. Datavision also endeavours at all times to only make use of suppliers and subsidiaries that are BEE.

The identity and autonomy of the company is inviolate. This has been guaranteed by the shareholding agreement whereby controlling interest in the company is held by members from a previously disadvantaged background.

Datavision has also ensured that the members and other key personnel are provided with the opportunity of undergoing extensive and ongoing training to enhance the company's future competitiveness.

With this new acquisition, Datavision has extended its services to providing all IT requirements and services. The company believes in an integrated value chain, which gives it the opportunity to respond and react quickly to changes in this dynamic environment.
