RDC MD, Mike Andreka and development engineer, Gary Schoombie, were recently acknowledged by their fellow directors and staff, for their valuable contributions to the company. Financial director Eileen Andreka presented them with the first TX690C transmitter PC boards to come off the SMT line.
"It was great to receive acknowledgement from the people in the company. What thrills me even more is that after 27 years in business and with over a half a million transmitters currently working in the field, we are still ahead in terms of technology," says Mike Andreka.
In November last year, RDC released the TX6900 and TX6500 transmitters which incorporated numerous new features, many of which are exclusive to RDC. The product was immediately embraced by the industry and RDC has experienced unprecedented growth since that time. Only seven months later, RDC launched its new range of transmitters with an emphasis on reliability. "End-users rely on our product to save their lives and we continually innovate with better reliability in mind," says Schoombie. The most significant feature on the new range is that the transmitters draw far less current from the battery, increasing reliability from that aspect, while products are now almost entirely manufactured using SMT (surface mount technology) minimising the chances of human error.
Mike Andreka remained tight lipped about future product developments saying only that there were exciting things ahead and that he was enjoying development more than ever now that he had the space to focus more of his attention on what he loves most.
