GeoVision SA has had another record year in 2003. According to GeoVision's Phillip de Beer, some of the highlights of 2003 included:
* The announcement of the GV900 (200 FPS) and GV1000 (400 FPS) in September 2003.
* The introduction of the GeoVision Number Plate Recognition System specifically designed to cope with the South African regional plate system.
* Audio card to allow two way communication on up to 16 channels.
* Text Overlay to enhance security around till and scale interfaces.
GeoVision Version 6 was also introduced during the course of 2003, boasting features such as object counting, point-of-sale overview with database, thumbnail browsing, pop-up screens on events, hyper-threading support and enhanced search and remote view facilities.
Added de Beer, "During the course of 2003 GeoVision SA has achieved a number of important milestones including becoming the 8th largest distributor of GeoVision equipment worldwide. We have quadrupled digital imaging card sales in 2003 over sales in 2002."
De Beer also suggested that readers look out for new products in 2004, including:
* Casino management system for the South African market.
* Large installation management system.
