Five million candlepower rechargeable halogen spotlight launched

Durban-based MG Distributors has announced what it believes is the most powerful rechargeable halogen portable spotlight on the South African market. Capable of delivering a five million-candlepower beam, the Big Bear's sealed lead acid battery can be recharged through a 220 V adapter as well as a 12 V cigarette lighter.

"The penetrative beam thrown by the spotlight makes it an essential security guard appliance," says Mike Groom, a director at MG Distributors. "The fact that it can be recharged over and over again signifies considerable cost savings over the weaker beam disposable battery alternative."

The Big Bear spotlight features a comfortable carry handle, two adjustable stands, the 12 V 100 W halogen bulb and two six-volt 5 A/hour rechargeable batteries. Accessories bundled with the unit include a DC adapter suited for South African conditions, a 12 V cigarette lighter plug and a convenient detachable, adjustable strap.
