HBA opens new mini-branches

October 2003 News & Events

HBA Systems is a manufacturing, marketing and distribution company dedicated to the supply of high-quality electronic security and communications equipment to the end-user and to the installation trade. Its main product lines are panels, detectors and ancillary equipment from the Napco Security Group of the USA, Alarm Lock advanced digital locking systems, a Napco division, and access control systems from Continental Instruments, another Napco subsidiary. CCTV equipment is sourced from Videotronic Infosystems of Germany - formerly the Bischke company.

With a head office and main distribution point in Centurion, South Africa, HBA Systems has focused its attention on efficiently distributing its products throughout South and Central Africa. Dirkie Vos, general manager of HBA Systems said recently, that rather than maintain costly, inefficient company owned branches in every town, HBA had established mini-branch offices in major cities. As a result October sees a second mini-branch opening in Cape Town, in Muizenburg, and two in Natal, in Durban and Queensburgh. Last month another opened in Ladybrand servicing Lesotho, and next month sees another opening in Bloemfontein. According to Vos, these mini-branches stock all regularly moving HBA products. Bulk deliveries are made overnight by courier from the main warehouse in Centurion.

Says Vos, "All product lines are backed by factory trained engineers with full workshop facilities. The design of special products is performed by specialists in their own fields, and controlled by HBA Systems."

Vos said further that HBA had recently contracted-out their manufacturing requirements, to capitalise on what they do best, in his words - "design, distribute, and support".
