Grintek Electronics is supplying the Lusaka International Airport with an 8 km digital radio link between the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Centre and the airport's radio transmitter site.
Grintek was responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the digital link manufactured by Stratex, an Australian technology company.
Gavin Swanepoel, managing director of Grintek Electronics, said the integrated digital radio link was a modern and proven technical solution. "The company provided technical support to ensure its full integration with the voice communication control system (VCCS) in the Air Traffic Control Centre.
"We delivered a turnkey service to ensure compliance and integration with the existing communication system." Swanepoel added that Grintek provided a 'one-stop-shop' service to Lusaka by supplying, installing and integrating the digital radio link.
