ASSA ABLOY hits the streets

September 2003 News & Events

In an attempt to build brand recognition and boost company spirit, locking company ASSA ABLOY SA, recently took to the streets of Gauteng. All 600 ASSA ABLOY SA staff members from the Johannesburg operations were highly visible at major intersections throughout Gauteng.

This marketing campaign was used to promote the company's consumer locking brand YALE - and gave consumers advice on home security along with a home security and door checklist.

"The whole company is abuzz with this awareness building campaign," says Justine Theron, communications manager, ASSA ABLOY, "and our factory employees particularly were happy to be involved in the actual marketing and face-to-face interaction with customers."

"Although exceptionally skilled in the factory, many of the employees never get to see the customers and feel a part of the selling process - we are promoting ASSA ABLOY, its YALE brand and our employees."

This roadside campaign will also promote ASSA ABLOY 'Unlock Your Life' campaign. "ASSA ABLOY recently embarked on a worldwide campaign to encourage consumers to 'Unlock Your Life'. To 'Unlock Your Life' means that instead of feeling afraid and locking yourself in, rather use a secure locking solution, lock up your house, your business or your belongings and feel free to live your life the way you should. This is revolutionary thinking in the locking industry which has traditionally played on people fears," says Theron.
