Teltron Digital announces the arrival of Technology from FARGO

March/April 2000 Access Control & Identity Management

Teltron Digital, South Africa's authorised Import supplier for FARGO products, has announced that the new high definition printing (HDP) card personalisation systems are now available from FARGO. The new HDP systems provide users with a digital card printing solution that delivers superior image quality, improved card durability and the ability to print on almost any card or card surface.

"We have been looking forward to the arrival of the HDP technology in South Africa,"says Tersia Terblanche, the FARGO Product Manager for Teltron Digital. "These systems will provide a digital card printer that delivers high quality, highly durable cards. Our clients in the security sector have been waiting for this type of system."

The HDP card personalisation systems provide superior image quality and improved card durability by using FARGO's cutting-edge high definition printing technology. This new technology prints images onto a special HDP film that is then fused into the surface of the card through heat and pressure. This unique method of applying the printed image to the card results in a dramatic improvement in image quality over traditional dye-sublimation and also provides enhanced card durability.

FARGO's HDP technology also provides a method to personalise a wider variety of cards. "With our advanced HDP technology, we can offer a system that allows users to print on card types not supported by other card printers," explains Craig Sandness, FARGO's Sales Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "We have seen tremendous response from users in the security market who require a digital card solution that can print on proximity cards. The HDP technology provides a solution that will provide a high quality image on almost any card or card surface, including smartcards and proximity cards."
