smart x central intelligence and Technews Publishing will jointly host BiometriX 2008, which will be held on 29 July 2008, at Southern Sun OR Tambo International.

Both parties have extensive knowledge of the uses and applications of biometric technology having worked in complementary spheres of the industry and have recognised the need to put on an exclusive symposium on the subject matter in South Africa. By jointly hosting this event, they aim to provide delegates with an holistic view of the technology, its various guises, applications and best practice advice for adoption in the future.

Smart x central intelligence operates within an international network of professional associations concerned with smart technologies, and is the only professional association for the industry covering Southern Africa. Smart x membership is represented by private and public sector end-users, solutions providers and consultants with members in the major business centres of the country. The aim of smart x is to make its members aware of the developments taking place in the industry both in South Africa and internationally.

Presentations will be made by respected industry leaders that will share their expertise and industry knowledge with the audience. This will not be an event for the simple sales pitch, but will rather equip delegates with knowledge to address issues they encounter in their own business environment.

During the course of the day’s proceedings, vendors will be able to demonstrate their solutions in an exhibition area, where further networking and information exchange can take place. This will make the conference an excellent opportunity to network among peers working in the same industry and experiencing the same risks. All attendees will also receive a CD with the day’s presentations and additional material for further research.
