Softcon's new intelligent hardware and performance software is aimed at opening up a new evolution in access control.
Software
The software will be based on a server/client structure and for speed and complexity reasons equipment translators are DLL programs and not via ASCII files. This will allow for a live display and automatic updates to databases and controller RAM.
Additional features such as set-up wizards, dial-up networks, audit trails, integrated video, asset tracking, guard tour, time and attendance and integrated www, e-mail and SMS functions will be available.
Hardware
Interface door controllers will serve as a standalone batch reader, granting access on certain data on the access cards. Two versions will be available. ie reader and reader/pin/LCD. The reader/pin/LCD version will also act as a hand-held programmer to the controllers. Softcon also developed new controllers ie a two-reader controller and an eight-reader controller.
