Quattro by Extreme CCTV released for distribution

March/April 2000 Surveillance

Quattro by Extreme CCTV is now available as a custom order product at leading distributors in North America. Quattro is a unique day/night, 24 h camera system that integrates a single colour, mono and infrared sensitive CCD chip with infrared illumination in a solid-state design that has no mechanical moving parts. The result is a durable, focused video picture in rich colour in the visible light and in infrared-supported monochrome in the dark.

More than a 3-way camera, the fourth element in Quattro is its control features that allow for high signal/low noise video under day and night conditions. Automatic switching from colour to monochrome is effected by a photocell that is hidden in the camera body.

"Other dual-mode cameras that rely on the picture at the scene to trigger a switch from colour to monochrome can be fooled by temporary lighting such as car headlights. With Quattro there are no mechanical moving parts and a more stable picture is achieved with control set at the camera by the installer," says Jack Gin, President of Extreme CCTV.
