Ideco to launch new Sagem scanner

May 2006 Access Control & Identity Management

Ideco, the primary distributor of Sagem biometric technologies in southern Africa, is launching the new Sagem MorphoAccess 100 Automatic Fingerprint Recognition Scanner on the local market.

This high-performance model retains all the features of the well known and proven MorphoAccess range - such as one-to-many identification, easy integration in access control and time-and-attendance (T&A) systems, identification in 1,5 seconds or less, as well as standalone or networked operation - providing a fast, accurate and easy-to-use security solution in a compact and very affordable unit.

The MA100 greatly expands the range of potential new users, lending itself to the needs of smaller clients and applications, in almost any field. The product also allows for biometric usage to be affordably extended beyond main entrances or key access points, to being used on every office door. A further extension is the use of this device in domestic applications such as front-door home access and alarm systems.

Founded in 2001 as a privately owned BEE enterprise, Ideco provides large-scale automated fingerprint identification systems (AFIS) solutions, fingerprint scanning services, as well as fingerprint integration (RFID) based on the Swiss LEGIC smartcard systems.

The new MA100 model will be demonstrated at Securex 2006.
