Responsible for field engineering, installation and technical support for a line of counter-terrorist vehicle barrier systems in the United States and internationally, Delta Scientific's Eastern Division staff, headquartered in Virginia, United States have visited the State Department and US Navy on every continent since 9-11. In the last four years, both the eastern division workload and staff have tripled.
"Business is very different now," emphasises Peter Lewellen, Delta Scientific-eastern division manager of operations and US state department veteran. "Our division is working in all parts of the world. For instance, we just completed installation for the Navy in Washington state, Korea, Guam and the US Marshall's office in Florida. We are continuing to install barriers, barricades and bollards at US embassies and naval facilities around the globe.
According to Lewellen, two of Delta's largest systems, the DSC501 very high security shallow foundation vehicle barricade and TT207S hydraulic barricade, have been especially popular for force protection applications at these key facilities.
