SABS ISO 9001 certification for law enforcement agency

The Strategic Surveillance Unit (SSU) in Cape Town became the first law enforcement agency to achieve SABS ISO 9001 certification with the help of Securicor Gray.

As part of the process to attain this goal, a new approach to metropolitan policing was introduced, in which a closed circuit television system (CCTV) plays an integral role in reducing crime in hot spots throughout the city.

Securicor Gray Western Cape has provided trained surveillance operators to the SSU since the inception of their operations in 1998, funded by the City of Cape Town. The management team of the SSU set itself a goal to obtain SABS ISO listing to distinguish itself as a law enforcement agency and visually demonstrate its commitment to quality.
