Responding to the increasing demand for remote video monitoring, Hitachi has teamed up with Broadware Technologies of San Francisco to offer customers remote video access.
This is a Web-based video monitoring system that transmits video images and manages cameras via the Internet for security, business management and many other applications, where remote viewing of live or archived video is required.
Users subscribe to remote video access and are then able to configure the system to achieve the most cost-effective solution for their requirements.
A triggering event will cause remote video access to signal a predetermined camera to record a clip of pre and post-trigger footage. The subscriber can receive e-mail notification of an event accompanied by four still images from the recording.
Remote video access allows for the archiving of full clips or a section of the clip for long-term storage. Authorised users can search archived video by time and date stamp, select the portion to be saved and store these clips either on their own personal computer or a remote archive server.
Remote video access currently supports MJPEG and MPEG1 compression systems, with MPEG 4 compatibility under development.
