DM announces Digital Sprite 2

July 2002 Surveillance

Designed in a robust silver and chrome unit, the new Digital Sprite 2 from Dedicated Micros offers a combination of video multiplexing, digital recording, network video transmission and dome control in one self-contained package.

The new model introduces a new Remote Network Support facility, allowing the operator to make system adjustments over the network without the need for a site visit. The operator connects to the Digital Sprite 2 in a password protected admin mode that allows access to the menus as they appear on the unit themselves. System adjustments such as record rates, day/night schedules and activity grid amendments can then be made remotely.

The ergonomically designed keyboard provides control of up to 16 units and therefore 256 cameras. Direct telemetry control, which is built-in to the Digital Sprite 2 is possible with the new keyboard and the new multidirectional joystick provides a zoom in/zoom out facility for swift, seamless control of leading manufacturers' domes. If operating more than one racked unit, the keyboard provides an LCD display identifying the unit with user-defined name and number.

Provided free with Digital Sprite 2, the new IR remote gives the operator 'front panel' control of the unit. Capabilities include the facility to change cameras and camera views, search using the GOTO function and review of the event list and playback of images from the hard disk. No additional wires or cabling are required.
