Baxall has announced the latest addition to its Destiny-IP range of network video CCTV products using Internet Protocol (IP), in the form of a sophisticated CODEC.
The Destiny-IP CODEC is an advanced hardware and software solution that converts signals into compressed binary data, allowing it to be transmitted across an IP-compatible network, such as the Ethernet. As a result, full-motion realtime, high quality video, together with audio, data and alarm signals, can be sent virtually anywhere in the world.
Such a design enables integrated remote monitoring when a PSTN, ISDN or DSL IP router is installed.
The Destiny-IP CODEC can be configured as a server (encoder) or client (decoder). As a server it can support four video inputs, which will offer up to 25 frames per second (fps) from a single camera or 4/5 fps from each camera (ie switching through each input).
