Sanyo has developed an IP network camera and a network server in response to those who wish to capitalise on the opportunities provided by their investment in computer networks.
"On large sites the benefits of transmitting CCTV images over a network are substantial compared to conventional methods," says David Hammond, general sales manager for Sanyo UK's CCTV division. "Installation costs are lower because there is no need to wire back to a central point. Equally important are the operational advantages in that the video can be observed from any PC on the network and not just from a control room."
