SMACS, developed by Fastcom Technology, consists of a CCTV camera combined with an image processing unit (PowerSight PC), which is integrated into the existing local access control or video surveillance system.
In interaction with the access control system, the SMACS constantly monitors the current interlock status. The CCTV camera, installed on the ceiling, provides a live video stream of the interlock to the SMACS image processing software. Through analysis of the stream for contrasts and changes in colour, movements and outlines, the system can detect if more than one person is in the interlock. Upon detection, SMACS triggers an alarm.
In addition to singularisation control, the system also checks the empty interlock for left or forgotten objects. These features ensure detection of persons and objects with unmatched precision, while preventing attempts at deception and false alarms.
SMACS is equipped with all necessary interfaces and hardware for video capturing and networking and can be connected to any access control system (pin, biometric, card systems etc).
