Aluvin Securiseal, a manufacturer and distributor of security seals, has upgraded its robust locking devices that are used to help secure trailer doors.
Added to the range is the new mechatronic re-usable security seal known as Secureseal.Data. This is a heavy-duty cable seal which is permanently fixed onto the doors of a vehicle.
With the addition of an electronic data-pack transmitter, the Secureseal unit which generates a random 5-digit number each time it is closed, now creates fresh possibilities for enhanced vehicle fleet management.
Designed to interface with vehicle management and global positioning systems, Secureseal.Data will provide a fail-safe security sealing with realtime tampering alarms, trailer ID and covert security number plus data for effective fleet management control.
According to Aluvin managing director, Kevin Norwitz, the new Secureseal.Data is an exciting advance on anything currently available in this country. "The Secureseal.Data is a very exciting innovation and will enable tracking companies to monitor exactly where and when a door is opened. Until now the vehicle has been able to be tracked exceptionally accurately but not knowing where and when the door is opened has been a major undermining of the system. The doors will only be able to be opened at specified destinations," says Norwitz.
The seal has enjoyed a successful launch and is currently being fitted onto retail and distribution company vehicles across the UK and Europe. Apart from the introduction of the Secureseal.Data, Aluvin has made improvements to two of its well-known seals used throughout the retail sector.
Firstly the Raptor seal, a plastic pull-through security seal, will now be available in a tough and durable nylon that will provide substantial extra strength. "Not only will the seal be stronger but certain design modifications will make it more user-friendly - in particular the tail will be made much longer and easier to close," said Norwitz.
The second product to undergo changes is the Aluvin Cargo Grip - a metal bolt seal for trucks and containers. The bolt has been strengthened and its shape modified which will make tampering even more difficult.
"This tried and tested product will now be a significant improvement on the high security bolt that is used for related applications," concluded Norwitz.
