Digital video recorder specialists, Vision Catcher recently took its FleetVu vehicle monitoring and SecureVu product range to Europe to compete with the multitude of distributors and dealers in the world market at IFSEC.
Niall Beazley of Vision Catcher says the aim of participating in the show was achieved. "With a steady stream of visitors from all over the world we were able to demonstrate the benefits of PC-based systems over so-called embedded systems and have secured a lot of interest in distribution arrangements."
Vision Catcher's modest yet creatively designed stand was able to attract a constant stream of interest as a result of being well positioned near the main entrance. Beazley states that Andre Swanepoel, who has recently joined Panasonic, ably assisted the Vision Catcher stand in his role as a consultant project manager, and also allowed Beazley the opportunity to explore the mass of DVRs on display accompanied by the technical support of his key manufacturers.
"FleetVu had a great show with a lot of dealer and end-user interest. There were two other similar products and although well designed, FleetVu had the edge with its dust and waterproofing IP ratings, something very important with the required target market," continues Beazley.
"Around the stands there were a large number of branded DVR products, which have been supplied mainly from Korea and Taiwan. Development in some of the other countries has forged ahead and although there were some interesting applications few competed with our own SecureVu Join realtime system. Many DVRs seem to stick to a set hard-drive size and offer additional modules to increase storage at considerable additional expense, as a result we saw that SecureVu VC2000 remains very well positioned and with its forthcoming upgrades to higher frame rates should still continue to be a preferred choice in Africa," concluded Beazley.
