Safety in soccer stadia

June 2002 Surveillance

In sports stadia, the use of Ultrak's UltraDomes for monitoring the more violent fans has proven to be particularly effective and is valued by the police force.

The ability to follow the often unexpected movements of the most restless fans - even if situated dozens of metres from the video cameras - with close-up video shots emphasises the surveillance characteristics of the company's controller units. The Ultrak control panels used with the UltraDomes are equipped with a proportional joystick that operates on three axes and with 128 levels of sensitivity. This special feature ensures precise control of the shot.

Many Italian stadiums entrust CCTV monitoring of fans to UltraDome systems. They are used at prestigious football matches, such as the national 'A' and 'B' championships at the Delle Alpi in Turin and the Olimpico in Rome.
